Cycle Phase Series • Part 4

Inner Autumn: Grounding in the Luteal Phase

Days 17-28: Turning inward, organizing, and grounding.

Woman meditating in nature

The leaves are turning, the air is crisp, and the energy begins to settle. In your Inner Autumn, the high of summer fades, and you are called to prepare for rest.

The luteal phase (approx. Days 17-28) is the longest phase. Progesterone rises, which can have a sedating effect, but if it's not balanced with estrogen, PMS symptoms can flare. Your focus naturally turns to details, organization, and nesting.

Honor the Slow Down

You might feel less social and more critical of yourself or others. This is normal. Use this discernment to declutter your life rather than judge yourself. On the mat, switch from power flows to stabilizing, grounding practices.

Best Practices for This Phase

  • Yoga Style: Hatha Yoga, Slow Flow, Grounding sequences.
  • Focus: Hip openers, longer holds, connection to the earth.
  • Key Word: GROUNDING. Root down to rise above the mood swings.

Recommended Poses

Malasana (Yogi Squat)

Opens the hips and directs energy downward (Apana Vayu), helping to alleviate PMS bloating.

Vriksasana (Tree Pose)

Find your balance. Root your standing foot down firmly to steady your mind.

"Autumn is not a decline; it is a harvesting. Gather your wisdom and prepare for the winter rest."
